New Home for Harrogate’s Tewit Youth Band

This project involved the conversion and refurbishment of a redundant chapel to form new facilities for Harrogate’s Tewit Youth Band.  The chapel will be a permanent home for the band which has around 85 members and provide rehearsal, meeting and storage space.

The chapel required a full program of refurbishment  and working closely with the committee members, it was transformed into a modern public building whilst maintaining its original character and features.

Particular emphasis was placed on acoustic design and working closely with specialist consultants to achieve the required sound insulation, thereby allowing sections of the band to rehearse simultaneously.

This was a very interesting and rewarding project which has seen a redundant building brought back into use.
